I cleaned house today and dusted the tops of my bookcases. They had been collecting dust since the start of summer.
The dust was composed of red-orange powder from the Sahara dust storms that ride north across the strait on heat waves, black urban grit, irritating yellow pollen, and a smidgen of fragrant ashes from forest fires — the perfect summary of this summer.
