National Health Day

The day of the El Gordo Lottery drawing is also National Health Day in Spain. That's because everyone who doesn't win says, "Well, at least I still have my health." And good health is priceless.

I'm healthy, and I congratulate all the winners, none of whom are me -- but, oh well, it was fun to dream. Thank you to those who wished me luck. It's the thought that counts.

Now the Christmas festivities have begun in earnest in Spain. Even Zapatero and Rajoy, two politicians normally engaged in a daily duel to the death, have wished each other happy holidays. Expect as little as possible to be done between now and January 10 by everyone, including me.
