South America's time has come.

I think so, too. Prosperity is not a zero-sum game. and the stronger South America becomes, the better for all of us. If the Olympics create jobs and draw tourists to Rio, all the better. And it will also be an extra incentive to clean up the city, which can never hurt.

Hm. One of these days I must travel to Madrid. I'm certain that it would have put on great games, just as Paris would have done; but that isn't the point.
